Method for Making Guo Ba: Step 1: Use dried rice cakes. Step 2: Heat vegetable oil in a pan. Step 3: Once the oil is hot, fry the rice cakes until they are puffed up and slightly golden brown, then remove them immediately. (To test if the oil is at the right temperature, place a corner of the rice cake in the oil; if bubbles form immediately, the oil is ready.) Step 4: Drain the oil from the rice cakes and sprinkle with white sugar while still hot. Step 5: Serve on a plate, they are super crispy.
Cooking Tips for Guo Ba: The process is quite simple. Rice crusts form when cooking rice on a stovetop. Remove the rice from the crusts, dry them, and store them.
